How to Read Tarot ~ Part 6

…continued from How to Read Tarot ~ Part 5

Rider Waite Smith
Now you look at the Rider Waite Smith card meaning. You may find this dismaying: the Five of Pentacles is one of the most potentially negative cards in the deck, meaning financial loss/poverty consciousness/health issues, etc.

Tarot of Creativity
The equivalent card in the Tarot of Creativity seems to present us with a much more digestible chunk of information: it means “Surrender/Breakthrough.” The two words can be taken together, as in “you have to first surrender to what is, before you can have a breakthrough.” Or you can look at the energy of the cards in the upright word as the beginning of the energy of the Five of Earth, while the reversed word represents the ending energy of the Five in the Suit of Earth.

So, if you received the card in the reversed position, you know that a breakthrough is imminent once you have surrendered. If you received the card in the upright position, you can take the card’s advice, and surrender to “what is” rather than resisting a change that is most likely in your highest good, no matter how it looks now.
