A building with several floors can be a metaphor for various levels of consciousness. The floor of each stage in the building is a one-way glass that permits vision in only one direction — down.
An individual stands on the floor that matches his awareness. Above him is the ceiling of his beliefs; below him are the levels of understanding that he has already gained. The floor is transparent, but the ceiling is opaque: he can see down but not up. He stays on the floor — the frequency zone — that corresponds to his level of awareness. On a lower level, he can only intuit what a higher level may be like; he can only go to a higher floor when he gains knowledge and achieves that matching perspective. Consciousness itself defines the dimension that it “lives” on.
